Stop Creditor Calls
From the moment you hire a bankruptcy lawyer, your creditors must stop calling you. When you retain us as your debt relief law firm, you can tell the creditors that you have retained counsel and that they need to stop calling. From that point on, they are legally obligated to call us and stop calling you.
Under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, creditors are allowed to call you at home between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. They are not allowed to call you at work if your employer disapproves or threaten you or harass you for payment. Additionally, they must stop contacting you if you have sent them a letter asking them to stop or if you have hired an attorney.
